PostSubject: Release Notes/Updates in the last CW   Tue Feb 04, 2014 3:33 pm

Dont know if this is a report but want to let you guys know of the changes they made in scoring and anti cheating. I hope they continue to improve clan wars and the app. I personally would like to get some member stats to see how many hours a person has played during a clan war to help the commanders manage their clans better.

Here are the release notes for Clan Wars: Antarctica, which starts tomorrow at noon PST.
A. The Clan Lock is still in place. Please make sure any clan changes are made as soon as possible, because your clan's size will be locked at midnight.
B. The designers continue to polish the scoring system. For Antarctica, the scoring system works like this:
When a node is captured, its CP value goes down by 2.
Every 2 hours after its initial capture, the node both grows by 1 CP and awards 1 CP to the holder, if still held.
The minimum CP value is 3, and the maximum is twice the initial CP value.
Example: Clan B caps the Research Station, worth 20 CP. They immediately receive 20 CP, and the value of the Research Station falls to 18. A battle ensues and they successfully hold off the other clans for 2 hours; they gain 1 more CP and the Research Station gains to 19.
Example 2: Clan C caps the Dam, which was originally worth 10 CP, but has fallen to 3 CP. They gain 3 CP immediately, but the node is already at its lowest level and doesn't change. They hold it for a day and a half (36 hours, or 18 two-hour periods). The node goes to being worth 20 CP (its max), and they gain 18 CP during that period for holding the node.
C. In order to ensure a fair playing field, all console matches where a clan is playing against itself are now discarded. Additionally, the anti-cheat robots will now watch to see if clan opponents are the same from match to match, and flag clans for analysis who are winning repeatedly against the same opponents regardless of whether they are clanned. So don't do that.
D. However, owing to the difficulty that PC players have in finding matches in rarer game modes, that rule will be loosened for PC players in particular and we will count those matches. That said, the bots will be watching to see if both sides are playing with intent to win. PC clans that attempt to abuse this in order to get an advantage in clan wars will suffer the ignominious and humiliating fate of the last 200 clans to try that.
E. Diamond Division is coming soon and the elite of the elite, who have won two or more Platinum clan wars, now have the option to opt in. If you are opted in now, you will not be placed in Antarctica, enjoy the brief vacation before Armageddon! You will receive the Antarctica patch for playing in the first Diamond Division war. However, if you are not opted in, you will have an opportunity to opt in after, so if you want more CP, other patches, more platinum wins, or more progress in the body count gear line, then don't opt in yet, and kick ass in Antarctica.
F. If you haven't updated your app recently, you may wish to do so -- we have a number of bug fixes, performance improvements, and speedups in the most recent version for each platform.
As always, thanks for playing and we hope you have as much fun as we do! Your constructive feedback is always appreciated, either here in replies, in personal messages to /u/Cloven, or with tweets to @felixgallo or @TreyBeachhead.

I kept track using the leader boards in the barracks. We ran a contest to win a Xbox gift card for time played; what I did was recorded the time played that week at 3pm EST/12PST Wednesday and then at 3AM EST Monday night before it reset, then again right after the clan war ended. I totaled up the time and subtracted time spent during the 2 days before clan wars to see a pretty accurate picture of time spent.

Our tracking is a manual process too but we dont have the incentives like you have done.

Ah okay. This last clan war was the first time we did it, we thought it would be an extra incentive for those that wanted more than just unlocks. An in game or in app way to track would be a great addition though.
